Definitely agree with Captinfinity about the hair. Currently it doesn't match with the cartoony exageration of the rest of his body.
Thanks for the feedback! I would have to disagree with the hair though. I was using a lot of character reference from the Incredibles film and Pixar stuff. They usually have more of a realistic hair style. That more realistic look matches the more realistic material definition I have going on. It is still styalised though, and as I said, I wasn't aiming to match the concept exactly.
Haha. Good point. I did try eyelashes earlier, but they made him look very feminine. And as I said, I was using the Incredibles and Pixar animations as reference, they usually don't have eyelashes (my guess is it's more animation friendly). But eyelashes would match the rest of his hair style.
Eyelashes are in (fairly subtle).
I also lowered his eyebrows a bit. Gives him more of a serious and emotional look, which I think suits the image better.
In regards to Pixar, I think you'd need to have a much more defined eye-shape to pull off the no-eyelashes look. They go for a clean, highly stylized look, and their eyeshapes have pretty sharp and defined angles and plane changes, your eyes in this are a little... soft-oval-ish. It's not terrible by any means, but I think it does call for a bit of eyelash action.
And it does look less weird now, kudos! Expression change really gives it a little more oompf too, good job.

I will try an eyelashes edit.
EDIT: nevermind. want to tweak some more and move the eyebrows down a bit.
