Ok so I had an MP5 sitting in my portfolio from a few years ago and I have been cleaning up my portfolio so decided to make it less shit.
I have decided to give it a worn look as if it was some kind of gun used in an apocalypse or whatever. But obviously not Fallout levels of post apocolypticness.
Not really going for an Uber realistic high poly for this or anything, just a cool gun that has some character.
Right now I think it's looking not bad but need an extra level of awesomeness so that's why I'm asking you guys for your comments and crits. Thanks for looking

It looks like you having trouble with smoothing groups on the handle , and nearly everything is too sharp
I like the base texture, especially on the silencer, but there is not much edge wear at all, and that is the most important one that defines the form the most
yeah the normal map that's on it could be better to be honest, do you know if I can have a separate UV set for Normals in Marmoset? That way I can space everything out better for a smoother bake.
I didn't want to go too mad with scratches and wear, but I guess some more defined areas wouldn't hurt.
If I were you, darken the diffuse a bit and let the specular handle things.
One more thing is to add some damage detail to the normal maps (scratches, cuts, bumps, etc), as well as some plastic bump for the lower receiver and butt.
Yeah the spec is pretty dark for the plastic areas but I will see how it looks a little lighter, looks a little rubbery right now instead of plastic. Really like the idea of the dents and scratches on the normal map, as these are only on the diffuse at the moment.
