[Mac] Submissions (Compiling Vtf Error?)

Today I tried to upload my first item to the dota workshop, just to check the rigging and texturing. I uploaded the model as .smd, then the masks as .tga, but when I clicked import I received an error. (On my mobile or I'd post a screenshot) Basically this:
"Compiling TGA files.
Successful.

Compiling VTF..."

...and then I get a long code regarding file locations and this error on how the vtf files aren't correct. I've googled it and others have posted similar things on different sites, but no fixes. I'm running a Macbook Pro, and the other posts were also on mac.

Does anyone have experience with this or know a way around it? I don't understand how it can be a vtf error when the masks only called for tga, and no where does it mention vtf files anywhere.

I will link an image in the morning, but right now I don't have access to my laptop and therefore the workshop.

I'm pretty the Mac importer is still broken. I've tried uploading an item on a Mac and got some weird compiler error, then I went home and uploaded the same files on a PC and they worked fine.

Well that's terrible news, there is absolutely no way around this?

I can only open dota on my Macbook, so basically if what your saying is correct I just spent days learning how to model and now have no way to use my work haha. Or at least have to wait a while to upload.
Not sure why I find that funny, 1 mouseclick away and it doesn't work. xD

Here is a link to a screenshot where another person has the same error (can't get on my mac or I'd take my own)

Even if I can get to a windows computer to try and submit, there is still the trial and error process that takes time and changes to have a good finished product. I might need to make rigging or texturing changes, but I won't know till I can upload and see.
Is collaboration my only option do you think? I'd be open to working with someone, it would be a good learning experience.
