First ever attempt at hand painting, feedback please!
Hey errybody,
So as the title says, this is my first ever attempt at hand painting and while it's not much I figured I'd post what I got for a start.
I am pretty happy w/ how it looks but I am not entirely sure it's got a "plank of wood" look to it as opposed to a piece of tree bark. I am going to add things like a nail as I finish more pieces.

One thing to keep in mind, and this is just from observation playing Diablo 3, if this is a ground texture, try to not make it as contrasted, keep it a bit saturated, especially your black areas.
I've read someone else mention this on PC before.
Could be wrong though so ima wait till someone backs me up.
Keep going though, good start.
