Eliteabix - can't remember time I spent, it was long time ago. I do concept art, 3d modelling, hand-paint texturing and simple rig/fx/animations, it's always fun!
stevston89 - no flats this time. If you have installed WOW client you can export current ingame items (3d and textures) with "WoW Model Viewer". I used to study this way how 3d stuff in WOW is done.
Wow, incredible work. The textures on all this stuff, but the last two characters in particular, are beautiful. Everything has a really gorgeous, soft look to it. Thanks for sharing.
those troll guys should be playable characters, they look so awesome. Color scheme for weapons in thunder king looks to boring i think. Brilliant work!
Holy crap, those trolls are awesome. How come I haven't seen them before in game? the weapons are fantastic as well, I love the animation on the second one o_o
Thanks guys! It's really nice to hear positive feedback from you.
I'm going to keep improving my skills though, there still a ton to learn from my awesome talented colleagues.
BARDLER- I did not make hi-poly for these guys, it's all hand painted on basic low-poly AO, but my pipeline is different now. These days I make rough sculpt in Z-brush for organic stuff, it's a great source for low-poly and hand-painted texture, and even sometimes for concept.
Hi, here is more "Mists of Pandaria" stuff.
I worked on some armor sets for Mists as well. I usuallt start with quick concept just for showing rough idea of design. Next steps were 3d modeling, texturing, fx stuff etc.
Straight to the inspiration folder, really nice stuff. Love your painting style and use of color. I played some of that patch and noticed the art in Mists was getting better and better. The expansion as a whole was very nice.
I had a question about the characters, are they painted right in Photoshop on uv's? Or in a program like 3d coat or baked from Zbrush sculpts first?
edit - thanks for the response! just what I was wondering
It's a mix between 3d coat and zbrush bake. I personally prefer for organic stuff do rough sculpt and paint in 3d coat on baked sculpt base. Sometimes it's more easy just to go straight to 3d coat painting though.
Gannon - triangle count may vary for complex shoulders or helmets, but usually it's around 1k (+,-). Texture size for body textures is always 512*512, for helms and shoulders 256*256 for each.
Luke003- there is no sculpts, it's all hand painted in 3d coat based on simple low-poly AO bake.
Superb work! I'm fascinated by how the maps really makes the relatively simple models look like they have more form than they actually have. My favorite is definitely the Warlock set.

Way to inspire with style FirstKeeper!
especially the lizzard/troll kinda thingy!
great job, thanks for posting them!
Great work!
Can I ask how long do you spend on these? Are you responsible for just the textures ore do you model too?

yay!
This, also will you marry me?
Amazing stuff, straight to the inspiration folder it goes.
Longtime player, great to see this stuff, it just keeps on improving.

What kinda of triangle counts and texture sizes are these?

Torch- thank you.
Was staring at the druid shoulders the other day on my dude, never noticed the skulls before then. awesome little touch, and different for druids!
Were you also responsible for all the different color variants of these armors too?
moose - Yep, colors variations was a part of making those armor sets.
