Hey guys.
I've been working on a few characters for an indie pitch that we'll be attempting to kickstart soon, decided to share one. I wont spoil anything major but the basic gist of the game is its a futuristic sports team vs team deal, drawing on elements from Valve's Ricochet, Bombing Run from UT, and the disc/ball games from Tron and various sports.
This is the female character in blue (all characters are tintable). One of the cooler character features is the ability to program visual 'LED' emotes for the helmet within the game, i got the idea from daft punk and the programmers/designers on the project were cool enough to implement it. You can bind emotes to keys, similar to those in counter strike or tribes. We're still working out how to implement it in the kickstarter demo...maybe we'll give donators their own exclusive emotes, or maybe give people the tools to make their own. If you have opinions, lay them on me
Anyway, here it is, will have some nicer renders up later when everything is rigged and completely finished/polished. Crits very welcome. Thanks guys
Specs:
22k Tri's (Head, helmet, body, misc objects)
2048 body (Dif, norm, spec, gloss, emissive)
1024 head
High Poly
Full body

Really like the idea with the LED emotes!
The game you are describing sounds similar like the game I´m working on called Epigenesis
I think you don't plan to redo highpoly, bakes and so on, but you might be able to tweak the low poly to gain a bit of thickness.
The tip of the thumb is too narrow and the length of the phalanges of the fingers is wrong. More attention to the nails would have been nice, her hands don't look feminine at all.
It's too late to change now but think about it next time.
@Abrvpt - Honestly man, i suck at female characters..there's so many subtle elements to get right - so these kind of crits are great, thanks. Are the arms just generally thin? or is it certain muscles or forms that are lacking? If you could elaborate for me that'd be great.
@Popol. - Yeah i agree. The more i look at these hands the more i hate them. I'm reluctant to change the model, but i'll rebake/model if its just glaringly ugly. Maybe i could shift around the lp vertz? Cheers for the crit.
Epigenesis is currently Early access on Steam

Do you have a name for the game yet?
It would be wonderful if you put nice animation on the helmet. So people may have opportunity to see how it take on/off like Iron Man suits or Dead Space armors. Even you don't have time to make the 3D animation, simple drawing would be great.
For the muscles, I think your shapes are at the moment convincing enough, but if you really want to nail the shape of the arm, practice is the key, with a lot of reference...
This site might help. http://anatomy4sculptors.com/?menu=11&sub=24#body
The volumes on the female arm are the same than the male arm, but waaaaaaaaaaay more subtle, which make them a bit difficult to do properly.
Hope it'll help.
