Uni WIP - Character for Handheld

Hey everyone, I'm currently working on a character model for University designed for a handheld console.

We have to hand paint the model - something I'm inexperienced at - so every piece of advice is welcomed!

Current Progress - I'm aware of the issues where the shading stops, this is due to a cavity map I used and It'll be fixed soon!

    Well, you might want to reevaluate your porportions, but moving forward with this, I would say you need much more contrast. From the distance and size I imagine you'd see this on a handheld platform, the shading would not even be noticeable. Also define a light source.

    I would check out this tutorial, you may not be doing this exact workflow but you should still be able to pull out a ton of information:
