Hi, I'm a french student graduating from art school in july, and I need to apply to an internship by then. I don't have much time to work on big personal projects yet because in our course, we're having a team game project for the whole year.
Here's my work :

Now a few questions :
- What should I work on to valorize my work ? I've already an indoors (realistic) Unity scene in progress. I try to do both realistic and hand-painted stuff, because I love the latter but really don't want to restrict myself.
- Do I need a demoreel as an environment artist or can I apply without it ? My teacher keeps insisting on it.
I'm open to any kind of observations. Thanks !

I vote no on a demo reel. I never watched vids as an art director when I was hiring people. For characters and enviros, still shots are much faster to look through.
Maybe do a scene more populated by props and background story.
Agree with MethodJ on not making a video, even if you do, don't put it on the home page.
You have shown us that you can do hand painted things, but thats not worth as much for a art director to be honest.
If you dont know where to start, show that you can do Nature, show that you can
get urban to work, show that you you can produce high quality showcase assets.
You need to be perfectly convenient with the baking workflow, and try doing all your future assets that way and as realistic as possible. Traditional or digital, if you can get realism to work, it will be assumed that you can do stylized things aswell, but not the other way around
For the showreel thing, I also never liked videos, they can be laggy, you may have no sound, its just not as convenient, but thats maybe me.
