Maya and Multi Monitors??

Hello,

I've been searching into this on google, but haven't found anything useful. I have a multi monitor set-up and I would like to split some of Maya's windows/viewports between them. But when ever I restart Maya, they all go back to being on the 1st monitor Saving my prefs doesn't seem to do anything about this either.

Maya version: 2014 SB3
Windows 7
Radeon HD 7970 graphics card.

Anyone know anything about this?? Thanks

i cant say for sure when it comes to viewport windows, but windows like your hypershade, uv editor and the like are specific to the scene file if i'm not mistaken. I usually have my graph editor and uv window on the secondary monitor, but if i switch to a new scene i need to set things up again.

Same for me. When I open a scene the render editor, etc. open where I left them when I last close, but a new scene requires setting stuff up again. Never tried to figure out a workaround.

Theres a neat little script that allows you to use Maya on a dual monitor setup.

have you checked this little box? i never had to setup window positions across multiple sessions or files except i removed 1 monitor.

for the viewports: in your viewport menu you can go to panel - tear off or tear off copy if you like putting it on another screen. in this case this is saved with the file not globally.

Thanks for the replys. I was hoping for it to be do-able globally across files, but nothing to terrible I guess lol. The current file I'm working on does save some for that file (hypershade, outliner) but not others (uv editor, attribute editor, tool settings)??

@battlecow: I found that on my own actually, but I have no idea how to set it up. No readme with it so don't know what goes in what folder, or what command activates it.
PS; I'm terrible with mel/scripting stuff...
