Elf Character WIP

Hello everyone! My name is Sharon. I've been a lurker on Polycount for a while and I'm finally coming out from my lurking space! I've been learning 3D and game design for the past two years at AIE.

This is a portofolio piece I've been working on for quite a while now and I need a lot of advice!

I need more practice on character modeling so this is a random character I drew up and my fifth attempt at character modeling. I don't really know what he is, though. I guess he's some kind of elf guard or adventurer maybe?

The parts I'm most worried about is the anatomy and the face. Also with the armor design and the topology around his legs. (especially because there are obvious tris there!)

Not sure if the face is too big or the skull is too small, but there is a big problem on the head. The eyes line should be near the middle of the entire head.

The body looks ok. But I would suggest to practice with existing characters, try to reproduce one you love, with lot of refs, you will improve your skills way faster because you d'ont have to invent something generic and ininteresting....

    Thank you for your reply!

That's a very good idea. I think that'll help me a lot since I won't be focusing too much on design and more on learning the anatomy. I'll have to get on fixing the head soon!

I think you're right about the face. I will have to size that down. :D
