Hey guys my name is Steve Ashford and I'm an aspiring artist. I've nearly completed my advanced diploma in games development at AIE Melbourne and looking to study at FZD (Feng Zhu school of Design) next year.
I'm a big fan of games and I prefer working in Photoshop and Zbrush mostly, although I have worked in other 3D programs such as Maya and 3Dcoat.

Lol! I'm keen to dive into such an intense course I have a lot to learn.
Thats my spec map.. nothing special.. i think from memory i just made my diffuse black and white and played around with layer styles.
I think the slimy look you are referring to mostly came from tweaking settings when i uploaded it to sketchfab. (you can change the model shininess etc)
The rest of the detail, such as the highlights, have been painted in the diffuse map.

So I am now working on the Goblin SDK. My intent is to texture, rig and animate it as practice for when I do my own creatures in the near future.
