Greetings,

Bit Fry, an independent game studio on the seacoast of New Hampshire, is looking to hire a freelance, hard-core graphics coder to work on custom shaders and custom rendering tricks within our current next-generation (PS4 and XB1) game production. Remote work is absolutely OK and in any time zone. We're happy to consider folks who are full-time employed and looking for a challenging side-gig, as well as dedicated freelancers.

Our immediate need is someone who can help us really improve our outdoor vegetation look, primarily around trees and grass. Our title uses a stylized look so we need someone who can work outside of a pure-realism approach, and help us obtain very nicely volumed trees and grass that are rendered at commercially playable frame rates and match our existing style goals.

Familiarity with Unreal 3 or Unreal 4 is a huge plus, as is familiarity with UDK, however if you're an experienced DirectX or OpenGL coder and can write shaders at the rendering API level, we still would love to hear from you.

This is a paid project, with cost being negotiable but tracking between market and above market rates depending on one thing only: skill and ability to deliver the next-gen quality effects that we're looking for. We are looking for someone with very strong talent and attention to quality and detail. We already have several approaches defined to achieve the look we desire, but there is ample room to be creative in this role.

Bit Fry's team consists of veterans from the game and film industry, with credits that include many AAA titles, including The Last of Us, Ryse, Bioshock, the Uncharted series, America's Army: Proving Ground, Guitar Hero 2, Forza Motorsport 2, Transformers 2/3 (film), Tron: Legacy (film), Curious George (film), Home Alone (film), Teen Wolf (film), and many others.

This is a great opportunity get involved with an up and coming independent studio in a critical role that very likely will grow into additional work.

Please send all inquiries to ben@bitfry.com - or private message me on this site (however email would be preferable).
