Z Brush Orb Brush problems

Hi there, I've been following a little video tutorial on getting started on z brush. So been using the orb happily up until this point...



as you can see from the image I've been using the orb brush to create some of the scratches on the piece of wood that you can see towards the left and right. But now for some reason that i am not aware of when i use the orb brush now scratches seem to be inconsistent and very pixelated. Please send help.

Try reducing or disabling your lazy mouse settings. Stroke > Lazy Mouse, Lazy Step.

Also the focal shift of your brush seems to be a different value than the brush's default; and you are lacking the associated brush alpha. You may want to try using Brush > Reset All Brushes to reset your Orb brush to its default settings.

Thank you, im at work at the moment but I'll give this a try when i get home and let you know how i get on.

A lot of it also has to do with your mesh's geometry. If you don't have even sized quads, or you aren't at a high enough subD, things will start to look a little 'pixelated' or stretched.

dannyboy91 - looks like alpha is unplugged for some reason, check if it still there.

One thing you can do when a brush (orb cracks or an other) is not working properly, is to go to brushes>reset all brushes (b on keyboard) it should reset all your brushes to default value, re-activate their alphas etc.
