Helly guys,
So I have this annoying error in Maya since a few months. Till now I could do my stuff in 3ds Max, but for school I'll need to work in Maya, so it'd be nice to solve this.
As seen in the .gifs below, Maya don't really care what axis I want to rotate (moving and scaling works fine), it just randomly picks one (in the gif Z axis, but it differs each time.
Also, the gizmo isn't working optimal. Really have to rotate my viewport towards the axis for Maya to take the right axis.
Those are just annoying errors, and slow down my working speed drastically.
This error is on both Maya 2013 and 2014, I've reinstalled both of them, restored / deleted preferences etc. Is there anyone with the same problem and / or solution? Would make my day

- service packs installed ? maybe this fix the error
- in the left sidebar you have to rotate tool - double click and reset the settings
- is the pivot centered ?
However for the viewport rotation, I had some weird behaviors similar in my viewport in the past because of gpu drivers, try updating/downgrading, maybe it can helps.
Not sure why, I've installed SP3 (I guess, was just the default maya installer), and updated my videocard drivers. I had to install beta drivers because for some reason the not beta drivers (alpha, gold? :P) tend not to be accepted), so I was a bit scared with that - beta drivers.
Anyway, thanks for helps, and I hope its not just temporarily working ^^
Maya display a warning on the viewport if caps-lock is enabled.
