Hi guys i have been studying for 3 years now and this is my final end of year project. My brief is to create 3 characters using the tools I have learnt throughout the year. I have 10 weeks for the project and it is near the end of the 3rd week.

Any critique is welcome.

First Character is a elf Wizard, here is the progress so far

I think we have to login to the site to see the images there.
Post them on public hosting site if you want the world to see it :)

Getting close on the clothing to being done. Any critique on the folds would be nice is it too much or not enough, and i am also still working on the hands it is so frustrating to get the hands right.

Not sure what your process was on this, but I would always recommend sculpting out the anatomy of the base body and then laying the clothing and accessories on over it. Right now it looks like you just started on the clothing without a foundation, and so it's looking a little disproportionate and unnatural as a result. You might try drawing some underlying anatomy over a screenshot of your model, which should expose some of the issues.

    Keep at it!

    what are your specs?

Are you suppose to make next gen characters?

If so, 10 weeks is not a lot of time, even if you are working full time on this stuff.

Shiniku's advice is right on point. You are sorta doing things out of order. I would first get the proportions down (you need a head for sure to do this) and then at the very last stage work on stuff like clothing folds for the high poly. The thing that sticks out the most right now is his crotch area is way high. Good luck man!

Hey thanks guys for the advice and i was thinking maybe the character to be roughly around 5k to 8k tris. I made a base mesh to start off in maya then to Zbrush but I can see the problem and doing anatomy should be what I should of been doing in the first place.

I added a head to the character and sculpting a head is really hard looking at alot of references
