While I like the overall look of the thing but how would it actually move? Might be some missing joint details that are confusing me but those legs take up a huge amount of space anyway. Would make more sense just to go with tank threads unless this guy is having to travel on very uneven terrain, although not sure if the current proportion of the legs would lend well to that. Perhaps the front pairs should be of different length than the rear ones. Would look more interesting anyway. Have you looked into spiders, crabs or other insects? There's most likely some good inspiration to be found there.
aimbiz: Yea i agree. I kinda wanted to add tread near the end but I'm too far along in the game. Yolo. I'm thinking of maybe adding more tubes and wires at the legs to emphasize the hydraulics it uses to actually move.
Looks awesome mate. You needs some lights on the thing, just little ones though. They would really show off the whole 'my gun is bigger and more advanced,' thing. If your going for that.
Really like the presentation/renders. They seem a bit fuzzy or some sort of overlay is 'blurring' out details though. Might be because the object is so small that we are loosing detail, not sure. I think it would benefit from some closeups and more interesting crops/angles.
Add3r: Yea i know what you are talking about the blurring. I think its the compression to be honest because I submitted a 5k pixel image and then blogger re sized it. Do you have any tips on uploading a full rez image?
yea definitely should of messed with the levels before i submitted. but this was influenced by bulgarov, paul peperra, and real tanks. the design is mine, but since its a tank with legs, it feels similar to bulgarovs' one day tank. i mainly use their renders for reference to model small details rather than the large shapes.
