So I am creating a grandfather clock and I am not sure how to make select polies appear as glass there is another polycounter that achieved what I'm trying to I was also gonna do final in udk as well http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=78698
Usually best to use a separate material for semi-transparent parts, like the kind of glass on that clock. Alpha blending is often expensive to render. Also often you'll get sorting errors if the whole clock model has blending enabled.
UDK and Max use very different methods for alpha blending. Did you RTFM?
Thanks for the feedback I am not sure what RTFM IS. I just want to be able to see the glass in the viewport for time being as I finish hipoly then gonna retopo bake maps bring in udk afterwards. Thanks for the help
I just want to watch a video of someone doing it in but not sure how to search because I dont want to make the object transparency I only want the polys I select to have a transparent material.
