Hey Polycount,
Bit of a silly question here, using max 2011 I have this green box and a blue edge:

I've got my snap tools set to 3D > Edge/Segment and I have use Axis Constraints ticked.
I want to drag that selected vert along the Y axis and have it snap to the blue edge.
But I keep getting this result:

Where the vertex will slide back and forth depending where my mouse is over the edge.
The long work around for me is to:
add a vertex to that blue edge, then enable edge constraints and vertex snap it in align with the original vertex in the y axis. Then grab my original vertex and vertex snap it to the new one. It's a bit long winded.
Is there a feature or setting I've overlooked?

That's another thing I forgot to mention, I am dragging from the Y Axis handle, not the center circle.
I've found that dragging it from the handle will usually end up snapping it with the same offset as the point you clicked to the vertex you're snapping. It's really annoying...
I guess it's just a job for juggling constraints and snap settings til it's right.
