Hy!
My 3ds Max 2014 load up painfully slow. I dont know why, but the loading time is almost 1,5 minute. Any idea, how to speed up loading speed? Thanks!
Is it slow before it starts loading plugins? And does it freeze your computer for a little bit? If so, it's a licensing bug, I don't think theres a fix for it. It happened to me with Max 2011 - 2014.
No, I dont see any freeze or that kind of bug, just loading very slow. Maybe my notebook HDD not enough fast. The SSD is a good idea, the instant loading sounds like a dream
Fwap, did you notice any other speedups besides the startup? Does file-saving with larger project files also speed up if you have ssd?
In general yes, but it also depends on the drive that you buy. Look at the read/write speed of the SSD.
I got an SSD with about equal read/write, and I was happy. But then I got my wife one with a very high read and lower write speed and I think that may be a better route. Her PC boots up in about 8 seconds and the write speeds are still faster than a regular disc drive.
Yeah, what Monster said, only draw back to a SSD as far as i can tell, if you are considering buying one, is they fill up rather quickly.
Mine is only 64gb and was fairly expensive at the time (not sure how much they fetch for now)
Had to edit a lot of registry files to tell it not to save temp files there, still find a way in though, zbrush being a massive culprit.

Your Max behave pretty much like mine. When i load it up, i go make a coffee and comeback, or finish a texture in Photoshop.
