Awesome lesson, just wondering are the tutorials going to be on your website? I actually just subsribed to your youtube channel when I watched your stone videos, will you update there?

What I will do is use services such as You tube and Vimeo...and a few others. each site takes a cut... some more than others. Youtube takes a 50% cut while Vimeo only takes 10%. so we will see what happens.

no kidding this is awesome, First try at any kind of hand painted foliage and for a first try i'm happy. Although i will be doing much more of this because I feel this in general is way to dense and doesn't have enough color variation. The technique works wonders though.

This is awesome! Had no idea blending modes were available as part of the brush engine, and not just layers. You sir, just made painting layered fur, foliage, and such speed up a thousand fold. Insanity.

awesome! Recently I did a grass texture and used the fade options and the like na dit worked well, But i couldn't find a way ro assure correct layering. That was a real pain! But the advice with lighter-color setting is just so awesome.

I'm sure things like the lighter color setting are just the tip of the iceberg concerning the amount of knowledge you'll present in your videos.

Nice use of Photoshop brush options. No one ever uses those things like this. Seems like a great way to get a base texture fast.

Ah yeah, I used this tecnique for the weed in my Far Cry 3 scene for VG Remix. If you do it black to white, you basically have a z-map. Add some highpass to that and you get a great AO approximation.

Ughhh! Been trying to make a brush like this on several occasions, but could never get a pleasing or easily controllable result. Using Fade and blending modes is such a simple solution I wanna slap myself. Kudos for cooking this up man, and thanks for sharing!

Hey, I posted this question in technical talk but didn't get any replies!

Does anyone have an idea how I would be able to reproduce this effect in photoshop CS4 (which I own) that is in CS6? It's the ability to apply color settings on your brush per tip. (3D Coat has something similar for reference.)

*Please note in this image the person who made it has the labels backwards!


The only thing I've been able to do is assign executing a script to an action key for a specific setting. For example, I hit F3 and it increases the brightness of my foreground color by 5.

Is there a way to execute a script per stroke in photoshop perhaps?

I don't think anyone realizes that this was a recent addition unless I've overlooked where it is in the past.
