UV Unwrapping Qustion

Hey everyone,

Just out of curiosity how would you go about unwrapping a modular asset such as the Starcraft minerals? I know this seems simple, but I feel like there might be an easier way to do it than piece by piece. If not then oh well. I'm using Maya and Zbrush and I figure between the two there should be a simple way to get this done.

    What do you mean "piece by piece"? It's not exactly clear what you're having trouble with.

    If the model will have a unique texture then you just unwrap it like anything else, getting the most efficient layout, considering % of space used/wasted, distortion and # of seams/splits.

    If it's going to use a tiled texture then you'd obviously match it to that when unwrapping.
