To celebrate our integration into Photoshop and the upcoming 3D Print Show here in NYC, we have put together a little challenge. Called "Printable Fine Art," the idea, as you can imagine, is to make a beautiful model that is 3D-printable. The top 3 winners will have their work printed and displayed at the print show, as well as receive one year of Photoshop CC and Sketchfab Pro.
More details can be found here in our blogpost. We hope you'll find this a fun contest, and definitely come see us at the show if you'll be in New York!

With the introduction of annotations, you can mark different points on your model, record the best camera position, and add a description. So now your model can take your fans on a guided tour of your favorite features. They're crazy simple to navigate.
Use annotations to tell viewers a little more about your workflow on a specific project or highlight something awesome. We think ALL Sketchfabs users will really enjoy it.
Give it a try. Then post your annotated model right here. Wed love to see the creative ways youll use annotations.

Can we make Annotation be actual links to tutorials or breakdown how-to ?
Yes! Hyperlinks supported
At SIGGRAPH, we are previewing the next generation of rendering: Physically Based Rendering also know as PBR. With PBR, models materials are more accurate and work great under all ligthing conditions. PBR will be available to everyone on Sketchfab later this year.

Were excited to announce that Facebook now supports Sketchfab embeds! Its super easy - just include a Sketchfab link in a Facebook post and it will automatically convert it into our real-time viewer.
Now youll be able to share interactive 3D content without having to leave your news feed!

Sketchfab now supports Physically-Based Rendering!
As you probably know, PBR is fast becoming the standard way to render 3d content and it's great to finally share this support with the community.
You can read more about it on our blog here: http://blog.sketchfab.com/post/112612737009/physically-based-rendering-is-here

There's already some fantastic content utilising PBR. Give it a try and share your results on Twitter and Facebook!

We've had a few more software integrations in the last few months so wanted to share. (3DPrinterOS, Strata, Quirky, Blender Cycles support...catch up on the blog)
Most excitingly, you can now publish your 3D-Coat PBR projects to Sketchfab with one click
Their latest version contains a Sketchfab exporter that publishes your project to Sketchfab, sets up all required PBR materials and then enables the PBR renderer.
To celebrate this new integration, we’re giving all 3D-Coat users a free 90-day Sketchfab PRO license.
So if you want to try out 3D-Coat and get 90 days Sketchfab PRO... just download 3D-Coat (they have a free 30-day trial), upload a model with their new exporter and the 90 days will be added to your Sketchfab account.
Have fun!

We wanted to let you know about an exciting feature we released this week: We're serving your models faster with the new texture quality button: where you control if you see a low res or high res model.
Until now, we always took a cautious approach: low-powered devices would always serve low-resolution textures, even if they might be able to display a higher quality.
With the introduction of our new texture quality button we put YOU back in control! We will still default to a texture resolution that we think is the best mix of performance and quality. But if you want, you can now override it.
Read all the details on the blog: http://blog.sketchfab.com/post/124241170759/serving-your-models-faster-with-our-new-texture
And here's a quick gif to show it in action:
Enjoy!
It’s that time of the year again when the weather gets cold, leaves turn brown and unspeakable things awaken from their slumber.. Join us for a visit to the Haunted Houses of Halloween! Great prizes await inside for those brave enough.
We have over $600 in prizes, find out details on:

With the upcoming premiere of The Force Awakens, we’re getting pretty excited about Star Wars, and we bet you are too! So we wanted to invite you to our new contest:
Model famous Star Wars scenes and compete for cool prizes, like your own Sphero remote-controlled BB-8 droid.
The grand prize is an Oculus Rift! Star Wars had the first holograms after all, and you can now build your own Princess Leia scene in VR on Sketchfab
To level the playing field, we have selected 2 cool scenes from each episode so far, and we threw in a bonus scene! Your job is to tell that story in a 3D scene, using annotations or animation.
These are the scenes you can choose from:
We have a stellar line up of judges including PolyCount's own Adam Bromell and the winning work will be featured here and on other CG sites. Entries close December 10th, for the full details, head to our blog!
We can't wait to see what you come up with!
(interactive model here - Sketchfab embeds don't work on PC at this time)
@Macrow I'm sure you could find a friend to swap with you

Editing a post with an embed seems to break it and it no longer works.
We've let Polycount know so hope to have it fixed (for real) soon!
For now, you can embed in NEW POSTS.
Cheers,

We are very excited to announce the release of our apps for Virtual Reality – available for Oculus, HTC Vive, Gear VR and Cardboard – as well as initial WebVR support on Sketchfab.
These apps provide a dedicated Virtual Reality experience and make Sketchfab available on more headsets. The apps are a curated showcase of models, and already a great illustration of what Sketchfab + VR means. Our goal is to scale them to let you browse the entire Sketchfab gallery in VR within the apps.
The other great news is that with our WebVR support, you can now explore ALL Sketchfab models in VR – not only with Cardboard, but with any VR headset. This now also includes positional tracking on all platforms that support it (Oculus and Vive). And it’s just a click away from any model – press the VR button to get started!

Hey Polycount,
We're excited to announce that we've made another leap forward that will help artists everywhere show off their work and discover others. Thanks to our WebVR integration it's now possible to explore every one of the close-to-a-million scenes uploaded by you, our community in VR on mobile (Cardboard, GearVR) AND on desktop with the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.
To make exploring in VR easier we've added our VR Launcher menu allowing you to browse scenes without leaving the googles, VR teleportation to move around the scenes and VR Scene Editor settings to simply and quickly set up your models for the best possible viewing experience in VR.
[edit] nevermind, found it. http://store.steampowered.com/app/464940/
tT seems to be limited to a specific selection of models though. Is there a way to type in a URL ?
