Hey polycounters,

I have recently released a tool that I have been working on called Stat Man, Stat Man is in its bare essence a statistics viewer, renaming tool and batch exporter

The tool is very easy to use, allows for super quick access to scene objects in those scenes with hundreds of objects! You can rename masses of items using the easy to use renaming tool, and also assign custom prefixes to these objects if you need to.

The batch exporter is built in and delivers a quick, easy and painless export. The export location is saved onto the object so masses of objects can be exported very quickly without the need to redefine the location in which you need to save your export.

The link to the tool is below:

Please leave me some feedback to what you think of it :)

Seems pretty cool. I have started working more often in a single scene with all of my different assets, so I'd love to give this a try. Any plans for a Maya version, or not to derail, but does anyone know anything similar for Maya? I'll be sharing this with some of my Max friends

I think I may have to to be honest. A tool for both seems like a good plan and would give me more practice with Mel script

Thanks for sharing man with your Max friends man :)

Heh, saw this on scriptspot today and it looked cool (been wanting to write something similar - a tri count lister - myself for a while). Will check it out ASAP :)

    I like it !
Was trying to make a tool for counting drawcalls but in the end it's the same thing than your material count.
It doesn't automatically refresh but maybe was it too consuming ?
Maybe it could display total scene stats and total selected objects stats too.
    Good work, will use.

    I had some error throwing
    position: 15485; line: 412
    -- Frame:
    -- s: undefined

i'm not sure what i did,
    but close reopen fixed it.

    Thanks man :)

    Noors:

Total scene stats and total selected object stats is a good suggestion, I will implement this in the next release.

Auto refresh was indeed too consuming, I decided to leave the refresh in the hands of the user as the repopulate function depending on the size and amount of objects in the scene, could take a few seconds to refresh and I didn't want peoples work to be interrupted constantly

I will take a look into the bug when I get home, thanks for the head up!

And thanks for the positive feedback :)
