ZBrush - UV Master

I've been searching for up-to-date ZBrush tutorials for UV mapping that don't include additional programs. Right now, I'm working with Blender, Poser and ZBrush and I'm just trying to teach myself how to texture and map strictly in ZB.

I'm having a noob issue I think.

The tutorials I find say to...

Under UV master:
  • click work on clone
  • check seams
  • enable control painting > protect and attract areas as needed
  • flatten to check
  • copy UVs

Go to main tool project and paste UVs

Texture Map:
  • new texture
  • new from plypaint
  • clone the texture generated in teh square
  • Open the new texture into the texture window on the left pane

The problem I'm having is that I've made the desired polygroups on my main model, and I create a clone to work with, but with or without polygroups checked in UV Master, no seams generate when I click "check seams." I can control paint but no seams are ever generated.

Sorry, this is probably a silly question, but I'm very new to this kind of software.
