any of you guys go diving? any cool stories or interactions? Finally saw my first Octopus and super excited about it. anyway, Im up in Seattle if anyone wants to dive Puget Sound, let me know.
I've never been diving, and I suck at swimming, but it's always been super interesting to me. I'd love to do it one day.
I'm from the NorthEast, from a coastal town, so the Ocean holds an especially mystical place in my heart. I used to dig clams and worms from the mud for some extra money, and I went on a Whale watch just last month. A couple of my favourite books are "Moby Dick" and "The Sea Wolf". So I love the ocean, a whole lot. But because of that "sucking at swimming" thing, I've never gone diving, or even snorkling in the ocean. I'll work on that and dive one day. I really would like to.
For a while I was making a horror diving game in UDK. Now I think it'll probably just be a short-story I'll write instead, but it was fun to play around with for a while. Didn't get it too convincing, though, because of my lack of programming skillz. It's here though, if you're interested: http://delugegame.tumblr.com/
Anyway, I'd be very curious to see peoples' pictures, and hear their experiences.
I dive, mostly in the pacific off of So. Cal or in the Great Lakes. If you get the chance and want an awesome relaxing dive vacation, I recommend checking out Dale Hollow Lake in Tennessee/Kentucky. You can dive to the towns they flooded in order to make the lake, and since it is man made and under extreme conservation laws the water is near crystal clear. Though it is a little spooky diving in the cemeteries.
I've got my new dive lined up for the summer of 2014. We are headed to North Carolina to dive the wrecks of the three u-boats out there, the U-85, U-352, and U-701. If Poseidon is merciful, we can get to all three.
