hey guys, been lurking a long time here and always been amazed at the quality of work that all you guys put out day in day out
. i think that ive finally got something semi worthy to show so here goes:
i participated in the CGSociety game challenge the past two months or so and have completed my own game demo -
http://challenge.cgsociety.org/game/entry/Dr.J/final_game/10005878 - id be honoured if more people would be able to spare some time to try out the game and give me some crits - its by no means perfect but its the best ive been able to get this to look and play given the timeframe. i worked on most of this myself, with help from my wife and a friend - there is a credits page in the game.
this project wouldnt have been possible without FPSControl, a fps toolset for unity. theyve done all the basic fps work for you so you can concentrate on making your game happen instead of trying to figure out the very basics of getting your game and player to work. props go to them for this great tool and it was great fun making a game with it.
a lot of the more polished environment textures were from gametextures.com as they provided almost unlimited access to their library during the competition and this has really helped the game to look much better than it would be if i had to draw every single texture on my own.
the weapon and arm models, textures and anims are by me and i am quite satisfied with how the textures turned out given that i only worked on them for a very short time, if i decide to develop the game further then i will need to give it the love and attention the textures need.
anyway enough of me talking, this post is getting way too long haha. ill let the game speak for itself. thank you for your time and i hope you all enjoy
!
