Greetings, my fellows !
I'm currently trying to redo the StevO tutorial about making foliage (
http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=126456 ) to train myself.
Unfortunatly, I'm stuck at the part where we need to paint the leaves on the branch. In fact, I can't find any equivalent tool of the "Paint Object Tool" form 3D's Max on Maya. Only thing i found was "PaintEffect Tool", but it seems it's not the right tool.
So here is my question, does any of you know if there is an equivalent tool as 3D's Max "Paint Object Tool" in Maya ?
If yes, can you please give me a link to a description of the said tool ?
Thanks !

But I've posted about it before, I use Photoshop's 3D painting tools very often. Especially CS5, I actually hate it in CS6. It allows you to paint directly on the object and keep your brushes, hotkeys, actions, etc.
In the tool settings, near the bottom, there is an Assign/Edit Textures button which will allow you to paint directly to your model after establishing an image format, resolution, etc.
If someones is interested, I found the maya equivalent : it's called Paint Geometry tool. It's a part of the Maya Bonus Tools which you can download from the autodesk apps exchange.

But I'll have you know that it's kinda broken. Models don't appear where you paint, but some centimeters/inchs away. I ended up placing leaves one per one.
