My job was to match the concept when modeling in 3D also for perspective and asset placements using the image plane option in maya then, texture and light the scene. There's a break down that shows the process here:

Progg I also checked out your portfolio since it says "Environment Artist". You have some really great work in there too!
One thing that bother me, 1st and 2nd plan are flat a bit, I think it would be awesome to make 1st plan darker, to show deep in picture.
I mean of course pumpkin and tree in 1st plan, and leaves. they're too bright for foreground.
Also i'm not sure from which side the light is coming, and its confusing. because there's lots of light sources (?) different light on tree, different light on musroom, and on log, i think it's what makes it chaotic.
But overall I really love how detailed this work is, and texture on trees, great work !
