His normal isn't broken. He just didn't bake anything from a high poly.
It looks kind of like the artifacts in game are on a checker pattern which could mean something isn't loading correctly. It shouldn't let you compile the item though if something is that wrong in a texture. Did yo put the masks correctly into the alpha channel on the masks and save as 32 bit? I don't think that's the error since it should default to white if there is no alpha but that's the only thing I can think of right now.
Yea its all 32 bit. My process with the channels was literally create each channel for each mask; flatten it; and then ctrl c, ctrl v it into the channel and it seemed to work fine.
to me it looks like he might has used outdated bs basemodell files. could be also wrong.
maybe try it the reverse method. add other masks, and see if it works for them.

Also, the normal map needs to be inverted, right now the dents are sticking out.
