Help! max 2014 UI broke!

k so this happened:


at first when i started, the icons appeared except they were abonormally small and the UI was glitching, so i restarted and now the icons dont load at all.

what have I done?

where you migrating files (like scripts, icons ect) from older versions of max into 2014? They changed the path for user scripts and icons and if you put them in the wrong spot it might cause a problem like that. Or if you thought the folder was redundant and you removed it, that might also cause a problem like that.

You could try launching the installer and doing a repair but at this point I would uninstall, clear out any remaining folders and re-install.

If that fails, you should be banging on autodesks door.

hrmh.. k so the plot thickens

I reinstalled the whole thing (removed completely, then installed fresh) but the problem still occurs.

quite frankly i dunno what i should do now

alright i renamed 3dsmax.ini and now max isnt starting at all.. it just stays at the splash screen "initializing 3ds max..."
