Hello everyone! It's been quite a while since my last post (a few years...) Anyway, I started working on a personal project a few days ago to brush up some skills and explore new techniques. This tileable brick texture will be part of a set of dungeon textures. I've been playing some Dishonored lately so was inspired to something hand painted. Critiques would be awesome and any feedback would be greatly appreciated. :D

Looks great, and the tiling is very unnoticeable :D Would love to see more.

Yeah the tiling is done quite well. The key thing that makes this work is that there are details that you initially see as repetitions (the 2x2 tiles) which are actually unique. By doing this, you kind of mimic real life, where floor panels are laid out in a pattern, but the tiles all are slightly different. The only thing that sticks out a bit is the 2x1 brick in the bottomright of the texture; it's a bit too light/white compared to the rest.

Just thought I'd point that out for those who want to paint their own similar textures.

Gj, I wish I could draw like that xD. Reminds me of game cartoonish stile used in wow or torchlight. Thing that you could work on is making them a bit cracked/damaged, that would be perfect. You have awesome tutorials at youtube.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I do have a normal map and a very quick spec map done already. Part of my process in making something like this is to start off with the High-rez sculpt from ZBrush and bake all the maps I need in either Maya or xNormal (the cavity map, AO map, displacement if needed, etc) and then I'll move on to the diffuse painting. My original idea for this texture is to be part of a set of textures then blend them together in UDK using vertex painting. Still have to do the other textures though. :)
