So I have decided to make a new Necrolyte set. Reason being is my last set was not even close to what I wanted it to be. I have learned a lot since and hope to make a far superior set as well as more sets in the future.
I also wanted to start posting on here for some added motivation to get things finished.


Here is the concept I have going so far. My only concern is whether or not they will allow his head to be entirely covered.

Damn that is a really nice style! I personally prefer the second one, the mask hood thingie on the first concept looks a bit awkward imo.

Nice lines! I prefer the second one too actually, it looks more interesting to have his face showing to me. I suppose it's because without the face there doesnt seem to be a similarly attractive point of interest.

Sick concept work man. Definitely go with the second one. It's a stretch, but its only going to take one person to say "KKK" on the workshop page for the first one and then everyone will follow.

I have been slowly working at this in my free time. Finally getting the concept to something I am fairly happy with. The colors/textures are not final, more of a rough idea.
Still need to do a 3D block in to make sure this will all fit. But at least from here on out it gets easier, as I find the concept itself harder to come up with than actually creating the piece.

Forgot to mention, I went back to some of the designs of my original Necro set so they may look familiar. As this is partially a remake of a set I was not happy with.

That's a really pretty set design! I love the look of the mask, but the face on the back being more developed threw me off for a few seconds as to which side was the front v:

Roots on the staff are a really nice touch, too.

That looks fantastic! If anything maybe the beard could use a little more polish - looks a bit lumpy.

And yeah, I'm definitely getting the darksiders vibe from the scythe.

@snowstorm: Ya I wasn't finished with it at the time and have since polished it up.

So just a quick update since its been a while. The low poly and texturing are finished. So I just need to finish working on the mask and some presentation rendering. I got the set in game just to get a look at it with some rough masking. Although the effect around him makes some detail a little cloudy.
I also did away with any glowing effect over the shoulder because it just didn't look good without particles.

Cloudy? To my inexperienced eyes they look sharper than a lot of sets!

Looks very nice, could you possibly post a shot of the glowing eyes and noses with just a slight green tint? I think it might look better and would be quick one to test.

@Vayne4800: All the bloom from the glowing parts is what I am referring to.
@Zambash: Thanks, I added a slight green to them but it is kinda hard to tell.

Anyway just posting a render of the set outside of game. Just finished up the mask so all that's left are some final renders. I kinda dragged this set out so it will be nice to finally move onto something else.

Edit: Also the beard looks a bit more natural in game. The render came out a bit clean and white as well as giving some normal issues.

That back item is pretty weak in terms of value and volume, especially compared to the default.
