I've been working on this set behind the scenes while lurking on the site.
Currently I'm having an issue where when I import my FBX from maya to ingame, I have various polygons missing.
I like to have the asset in-game when textuing so I can compare all the masks as I do the diffuse.
I'm not very good at rigging, but there seems to be ZERO information floating around about rigging limitations. I could just suck at searching for the information.
One thing that I think would be helpful to know would be like...
Max influences per vert.
If anyone else has general rigging knowledge for Dota2 Items, I think that would be a cool thread.

I think max influences per vert should be something like 3 or 4
My guess now is that it's a geo error of some sort.
By normals, do you mean the mesh normals or the texture?
After spending a good amount of time, checking my mesh, checking the rig, testing this, testing that...
A friend suggested I check my alpha channel. Sure enough I had a spot in my Color Alpha causing certain parts to not be visible. So all is working now...
