Gameloft Test - Lowpoly Girl

Hello there. I've been using 3dsmax almost 2 years now (seft taught and some friend teach me).

Lately i have apply in Gameloft and they gave me a test: make character a lowpoly of "Maria Sharapova" with 600tris max :poly142:. I dont' have much exp in character modelling before ( i certainly work on environtment) :poly122:.

And about 4 hours sit and learn. That all i have is overpolygon and very ugly man (i want girl) . Can anyone (have free time) tell me something about her chest and make my wire cleanner ?. Thank u so much :thumbup:

I have never done a char with that low polygon.
But I'm sure she will end up similar to this.

I'd say go through the LOWPOLY (sub 1000~ triangle models thread and study the wires.

They also gave me a test, wich I did...they never called me back. I contacted someone else who have been approched by gameloft and they did the same....do this for me and no answer.

Here's an example of a female base body I did. The triangle count is listed on the image. Maybe this could be of help.

A character test too ? hmm too bad , it doesn't matter that u pass or not. but no answer is ... suck.

To be frank, if your work currently looks like that and you need us to guide you through modeling a pretty simple human... I don't think you're ready to work at GameLoft.

That said, here are some posts (from the aforementioned LOWPOLY thread) with wireframes of lowpoly females to help you get better:
Left 4 Dead Zoey, around 550 triangles.

Mass Effect Tali, ~750 triangles

In addition to the tips and advice everyone else has given, it might be helpful for you to practice figure drawing and do anatomy studies. It will help you wrap your mind around modeling and sculpting the human body in 3D.

Ah, so they're on to Sharapova now? They do like their tennis players at Gameloft. I've had their Rafael Nadal test twice now. Do they want you to animate her too? That's where the real fun of dealing with a character that low poly comes in, particularly when it's a tennis serve animation you're trying to do.

Ya. My skill at character model is bad . But a company games is very good place to learn (if i can go in), so i wanna try .

Thanks for your advice. My hand drawn skill is just beginners:). Now I still spend few hours a days to improve it (seem slow but i got fun).

Yes it is . max is 20 bones and they want me to take some pose
