I'm having trouble with my models when i'm importing them into dota 2. They are scaled down once imported into dota 2, in my viewport in 3ds max it's the same size as valves .fbx files (see attachment) but once in dota they are scaled down.
I've done a reset x-form before skinning the item
Also these are obviously not the final textures, so don't comment on that please!

Import the .OBJ file into the scene, and then scale the maya rig up to the .obj model so they are the same size, then it should work properly
Sorry i don't think i understand. I'm using 3ds max and can't import any of the maya files valve provided. The only format i can import is the .fbx files and when i import them, the sword i made and the default sword is the same size.
Didn't change anything, i've tried 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2013. All versions give me the wrong scale
Can't import .obj into dota. Only accepted formats are .fbx .smd and .dmx. The only format of those i can export is .fbx
Oh okay, but then which .obj do you mean? The valve files only include fbx, smd and some maya files?
Real sorry but i don't understand haha
Haha okay, well unfortunately not. The .obj doesn't save bones i think
collapse and export it, it should work
Oh my god thank you so much, that was it. I feel like an idiot now :poly136:
haha yeah that actually happened to me too on another model i was working on, back then i didn't know about polycount so i had nowhere good to ask for help and simply resized it and was lucky that the position was actually pretty good
