The Army Game Studio is seeking talented 3D Character Animators with experience in both key-framed and motion capture pipelines to join our team to work on current and future versions of the Americas Army video game as well as a large variety of Americas Army branded government applications. The ideal candidate will have proven animation experience working on at least one shipped console and/or PC title and have a thorough understanding of the game development animation pipeline using the Unreal 3 Engine. In addition to demonstrated animation skills, candidates who have the ability to rig, skin, and script any aspect needed for a typical FPS character are strongly encouraged to apply. Candidates must possess a SECRET security clearance or have the ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
Required Skills: The 3D Character Animator must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of all the principles of animation.
Candidates must possess expert level knowledge of animating realistic characters within Autodesk Maya (3ds Max Animators will also be considered) and have the ability to work in a team-based creative and collaborative environment. Experience using Autodesk Motion Builder is a plus.
Candidates must have strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as a good eye for quality and detail.
Candidates should have an intuitive understanding of human anatomy, skeletal structure, and musculature as well as a thorough understanding of weight and timing in realistic motion contexts. Candidates must be committed to personal and peer development and the sharing of best practices.
Applicants will not be considered without a demo reel and corresponding reel breakdown of the candidates contribution. Online portfolios are preferred.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience Requirements: A Bachelor of Arts or equivalent degree is required. 6+ years of experience may be substituted for degree requirements. MFA or equivalent is preferred. At least 2+ years of experience is required in addition to the degree.
