good news for game dev people but possible layoffs for vfx people.
either way it smells of greed and cost cutting etc.
but why do they need to cut costs ?

    Disney's 2012 numbers:

    Revenue 11px-Increase2.svg.png US$ 42.278 billion (2012)
    Operating income
    11px-Increase2.svg.png US$ 9.260 billion (2012)
    Net income 11px-Increase2.svg.png US$ 5.682 billion (2012)
    Total assets
    11px-Increase2.svg.png US$ 74.898 billion (2012)
    Total equity
    11px-Increase2.svg.png US$ 39.759 billion (2012)

they have more than enough money to do both and invest in both.

That tech is awesome for realtime feedback during the making of the movie, but they still will need a lot of clean up and work done in post. It's not like games such as Last of Us just used raw mocap footage. Also large scale physics and destruction work cannot be done real time to the scale they do in movies. I think this tech will require almost as much vfx work. I don't see people losing work over it.

Green screen compositors might want to upgrade.

It depends of what they mean by post-production process, this could be vacations, bonuses for investor and bigger salaries ...
