Hi all, I'm pretty new here. I've been doing 3D graphics off-and-on for a while now, but this is my first real try doing game art.
I'm not very good at concept art, so I usually do some lite scribbling then make things up as I go in 3D. It doesn't always work out very well, and it's a pretty slow way to go about things, but I usually get on the right track eventually.
I'm currently working on a heavy looking armor set of items for Sven.
Please ignore the textures/colours. Since I'm making this up as I go, I've just roughed them in to get a feel for how the models look.
I'm thinking the armor will be a little ornate (but not overly) and weathered in the final normal map and textures, but I'll get to that when I'm happy with the base mesh.
Sometimes I get a kind of selective blindness to how stupid something I make looks, until someone points it out or I take enough steps back to see it for myself. So any all crits/comments about the design would be great.

Also had a go at making a high res model for the normal mapping on the sword. I'm still working on figuring out xNormal, so I can't test it properly yet.
I'm thinking of making the face of the helmet a bit more traditional, like this.
Comments welcome!
@quockhanhlk, Hmm, that's a good point. I think the new design flows a bit better, but I do want the armor to look strong. I might try some more experimenting.
