This started as a practice bust but I decided to turn it into a full character and want to take it to a high enough standard to include in my portfolio.

Done the 1st overall pass, most clothing is there as blocked in and initial attempt at cloth. The head took some time and allot of comparing to reference but I think it's kind of vaguely in the right ball park.

One thing I see is he's torso is kind of learning back although transpose master doesn't seem to work in ZB4r6 so I'm a bit stuck with that for now. Any feedback would be appreciated. Cheers.

Hey Super, the likeness is definitely getting there, and easily the strongest part of the sculpt so far. I think you could stand to make the most improvement by focusing on the clothing. I imagine The Don would wear only the finest, perfectly pressed tuxedo, and right now, it looks like hes been caught out in the rain. Get some good reference, and buckle down and really study the folds. Pay attention to the different types of folds you'll find on different parts of the suit. You should have fewer folds that tend towards hard, straight, and angular, rather than the many soft curves that you currently have. Pay close attention to where each line starts and ends.

    Also, tiny hands.

Wrinkles of his suits are a bit more and not proper.Shadow between his chin and neck needs more work too.

Before you add any more detail, i.e. wrinkles, cloth folds etc I'd go back to the lower subdivisions and revisit some of the fundamentals. Whilst the sculpt looks promising its lacking a little in its anatomy.

    1. as Scapulator said - its a little short - fair enough he may well be a short person but the head-size should reflect the same proportions.

    2. The hands seem quite small; put your own hands over your face and see how much it covers - its a good reference to use and looking at this it looks like itd only cover half of his own face.

    3. I'm not sure if this simply lies down to the head-height ratio but the waist looks a little low whilst the torso slightly too long...

Don't let feedback halt your progress just take it on board and keep on going ;),

    Hope it helps.

    Dave.

Brandon, haha caught in the rain wasn't quite the look I was intending. Thanks for taking the time. Addressed the folds for the better I think. There's always a tendency to overdo them but you're right, with such a tuxedo they'd be sharper and more subtle. Balancing act between them not looking like simple tubes and avoiding the rain soaked I think.

    Scapulator, bang on. silkroadgame, thanks.

Dave, thanks. I've tried to deal with all those points now, on reflection he certainly was too short. Oh and the tiny hands should look better.

I may have another go on the sleeves now I'm posting, they perhaps seem a little overcooked. Starting to suffer from that 'staring at it too long' syndrome.

Any more thoughts would be appreciated! Cheers chaps
