Hey polycount i hope you all are well,

After finishing university in Hatfield i had been busy moving to Dusseldorf in Germany so i did not really get the chance to start up my own work thread, but now things have started to settle down i plan to keep the thread updated on any personal projects i work on as a way to get crit and keep improving myself.

So to start off fresh i have began working on some grenades from elysium i saw the concept posted on a friends wall and just had to give it a try.

I am planning to have them game ready tommorrow fingers crossed :)

    Hey Polycount,

Hope you are all well, update on the grenades for a final render i may take advantage of Cryengine or UDK, the objects are alot harder then i had initially thought with the bottom half of the grenade being the death of me.

    Aim for next update:
    • Refine Specular
    • Create and use a Gloss Map
    • Lower Polycount currently sitting around 1.5k which is just to high
    • Add a small amount of wear to the text on the grenade

Crits and advice is very much welcomed.

got the grenades to a place where im sort of happy the polycount is down to 750 odd polys which is better however i have lost some raised detail around the bottom i will keep practicing and probably come back and start fresh on this another time. Looking to start work on an Environment concept i have in mind.
