The catacombs one looks really well, but the painterly one has too big gaps between the stones, and the main thing is that theyre too soft. Avoid using soft brushes for contours. There is one stone, the 2nd top left, and the one below in the middle, those stand out because they are rather sharp compared to the rest, those are pretty close.
The white highlight is a little intense, but thats the right direction.
Cheers Shrike, couldn't agree more, the second image was created in 2012 and was the first tileable texture I had attempted, the first image was made 2013 and was pretty much me re-visiting the process (whilst also obviously including normal mapping). Thanks for the crit!
