FINAL
Calling it done, I learned lots, had fun, and happy with the end result. Thanks for looking!
OP:
Started this project a couple weeks ago, and ready to post it for some feedback. The base car is a 1973 Ford Falcon, with a few liberties taken on some stuff I liked on different trim/year models.
The idea is its a post apocalyptic car that is converted to run on this makeshift sci-fi engine, and turned into a taxi cab. I want everything to look very patchwork looking, lots of random bits thrown onto it, armor bolted on, wires going all over the place. Rage and that Outsider vehicle was a big inspiration for me.
Mood board.
Highpoly model so far. The base car is fully modeled. The armor, gadgets, and fun stuff is just blocked out so far.
Let me know what you think.

There is only one thing, that looks kinda strange to me: the tires. Maybe you should enlarge the rims.
If you look at the two top right pictures in the mood board that was my reference for the tires. Mud tires usually have small rims, but I will experiment with the size to see if they look better. Thanks for the comment.
I'd recommend you switch it's place with the spare tire, and add a Shroud to protect it, then you could have the tire on top of the shroud maybe?
Any comments welcome.

In your reference those tires are probably at least 35inches in diameter. To fit on your vehicle, those tires are more like 28inches, so your rim is going to be a lot bigger proportionally. Something like this:
I played with the rim size, but the bigger I made the rims, the stranger they looked on the car. I can post a screenshot later when I get the chance to show you what I mean. Thanks for the input though.
The triangle count is 8800, but I plan on adding some electric wires so its going to go up a tad more.
Here is the wireframe.
Wish you would do something with the box on the roof, it looks so out of place at the moment and with that it brings my eye right to it.
Thanks! The box is going to be the makeshift taxi sign. Does that change the way you feel about its design and placement? I think the texture will put it into better context, but I am wondering what your response would be.
I do think a metal plate with "taxi" scribbled/painted on and maybe two metal bars to hold it up, would fit the design better.
Yea I might mess around with the design a little. I am actually going to go back and tweak my lowpoly some more. I think I want to add some more polygons to the some areas to add some more depth. This is a portfolio piece so I want to make it look awesome lol.
Comments welcome.

Yupp dirt, dust, grunge, and rust are next to do. I like to get the clean version looking good first, so I am not trying to use dirt to cover up bad textures. Thanks for the pictures, those will help a bit.
As for yours, the model is really nice but the texture feels short of fulfilling it's potential. The clean version looks better and could use some hard-edged details, wear&tear and the like. The dirty version has those, but the placement is unconvincing. You wonna really "throw" mud at it, filling up all those little crevices, covering up small details like screws n such, especially on the wheel.
One more push and u'r done.
