HI everyone!
I am really REALLY scared to post anything to such a big and great forum as this one!
All my previous attempts to become a member of any CG forum community failed since I'm not very good at web interaction. I usually keep quiet for I don't think I'm smart enough to tell anyone things and don't praise others works because others already did it. I'm such a lurker, I know
But I try once more here)
So, lets talk business))
Here I am with my big project (for me of course), including designing, modeling, texturing, rigging and presenting the set of two current-gen game models (one playable character and one hostile NPC) during in-game interaction.
I plan this should be an attack or a moment before attacking NPC from behind.
The setting: future. firearms and futuristic weapons coexist. The world is a distant colony. Any kind of a new frontier or wild west.
The possible game is stealth action. The protagonist is a kind of a trained professional who is sent to eliminate some dangerous target. His vessel is being shot and crashed in the middle of the enemy territory so he has to fight his way out. This is the first level and the player doesn't have many devices at his disposal.
Enemy is first tough guy who is better be avoided to confront directly.
But of course none of these will be visible at final shot)) that's just for me to keep everything organaized.
The final piece is: base showing piece of environment and two figures in the middle of interaction.
About requirements: protagonist has the limit of 25 k of tris. Enemy – 16-20k (I'm still not sure).
I honestly suck at drawing and designing so it takes ages for me to think and draw everything through.
Right now I drew a couple of weapons that may or may not be used inside of this project (anyway I gonna model them later) and a concept for the bad guy although I'm not sure about exact details)

I like your weapon sketches. Since its "sketches" I won't comment because there might be things that you are still working on/planning to add. The top weapon- how does it work/what are its functions? I like that yellow sort of CAT look you've given it.
Your anatomy on your character is weird to me, particularly how the legs are rotated, his left arm/shoulder position, and the rotation of his left wrist/hand-- it makes him look sort of disjointed like he was pieced together instead of grown all at the same time. If you stand up and mimic *exactly* the pose you drew, you might be able to understand better what I'm trying to say.
Those boots are really cool; they're like crazy belt-strappy-Duck Boots. I like them a lot.
Well, about the pose - that;s that I ment when I said I am still learning to draw. That's more about character design then correct anatomy Although I'll try to coorrect what you said, thank you wery much.
top weapon is supposed to be chain gun) I'll try to make it clearer somehow as most of those who seen it asked about functionality)
Again, thanx for comment!
Here's some links that might help out some with the figure. they've got lots of poses you can study and use as reference. These aren't necessarily just straight forward poses you'd use for a character sheet, but they can help develop a character/ give inspiration..etc.. Fair warning- there are a lot of nudes.

actualliy I mentioned what I'm to do all the stahes and the final result should be a turntable w 2 3d models)
Sorry that wasn't really clear in my question. haha
I want to do creature/character modeling and animation.
Well' Im talking too much next time I bring some pics)))
He's still combined together instead of being one whole :poly122: I'll try to be more correct at the next one, I swear. Again as with previous - this is more of a sceme (here hangs this, there he has ths) than exact blueprint.
It took a lot of time to draw second character - the protagonist. Was trying to make anatomy and perspective correct. Looks better but i'm still not satisfied.
There is only one variant sicne I had the general idea.
Theese are boots on his legs, not prosthetics
I began from revolver. Was my first purely 3ds Max modelling (as well as hardsurface) experience.
Did Highpoly, slowpoly and unwrapped this thing. Although may tweak uv's some more. Or just go lazy and don't.
I,m gonna try out dDo for this gun) So it's time to go check put some tuts and manuals.
Test bakes highlighted some issues so I corrected both High and Low models and corected UV's a bit. Took some time to clean everything up but now I'm ready to try dDo out.
So I think the gun is ready)
Next i'll do the knife and probably start the fat guy.
1k textures (diffuse spec gloss normal) and 256x256 emissive
Time for some character modelling. Maybe I do other guns after heavy guy.
turn(lazy to make one especially for this site): http://globalgallery.ru/View/A2NW2fSdpkmQLff9vXCmKw/
Some pics to show that I'm knee deep in this project!
a couple of weapons for da guy))
Some ups:
Just finished lowpoly and baking base textures.
He is roughly ~20K which is exactly as planned. there will be 2 maps 2k each - one for a skin and one for the rest
Tests from marmoset
keep at it
Nevermind. So, I'll try to make a good comeback.
So here's some of my works done recently.
First of all, I completed the tough guy
Than I tried to get a job at Allods team/mail.ru.
When I did the test task for the first time I got rejected with some really good comments why.
So I had to practice on my weak spots which were: materials, surface detail and quality of a normal map.
Here are some works I've done back than:
After that I had some time to experiment and have more material practice.
I feel like it's time to move down now))
The concept itself
YOu can check the rest of his stuff here! It's awesome!
Im done with the sculpt, I guess) now paint and retopo
