Hi guys i have a problem.. There is a way to capy/paste uv from an object to another??? they've got the same vertices but the copy/paste uvw modifier doesn't work! Thanks
The vertex numbering is probably different. check around scriptsport.com for a script called "Morphix" it will reorder the verts in one mesh to match the other then you should be able to save the UV layout from one and load it onto the other.
hello! i ve problem to make work this plugin for 3dsmax, when i choose the hint the program freezes and says action cancelled, could you please explain step by step how to use this script??
The thing that bugs me about Max after having used this ancient modeling program called Creator for the past year is that the copy/paste UVs tool in Max is complete garbage. I shouldn't have to run a script to get it to play nice. In Creator I can copy any polygon's UVs and paste them on another polygon without having to go through any hoops. It's a very intuitive gem hidden in a very dated modeling package.
I want to learn MAX Script just to emulate that functionality if it hasn't already been made by someone.
copy pasting uv works as long as your vertex order is the same. It even works inside the unwrap, if you've attached 50 object copies, unwrap one, copy it and paste to other elements. Now you could make something that save and paste uv according to vertices relative space position, or use morphix if the shape has changed.
