I'm a bit confused on how it is supposed to be held.
The handle is the top one? Then the blade almost looks like it's backwards. I'm not sure I have explained myself well

thats the idea... its a smasher sword... it can cut and smash... seen dooms animation?... he is bad sword swinger, looks more like a mace attack
the grip is the thickest part of the handle... yes its the top one
Get rid of the tail, it looks stupid. Plus its not possible to add movement to it since you need jigglebones which aren't part of Doom's weapon.
As for the texture it looks like you just overlayed a rust texture onto the orange blade. Dota items use a lot of hand painted textures. Check out Valve's texture guides: http://www.dota2.com/workshop/requirements

I LOVE THE TAIL, is realy that bad idea?... it may have movent... it could be thicker too, or have a pendulum.. isntead of a tail

i tried so hard to match the textures... my brain is making something else... why wouldnt this work?.. it will look undotastyleish?
