I searched for a thread on this, couldn't find anything after quite a bit of searching, so I assume one hasn't been created. If not, please remove
So, Rayman Legends recently released, and just like in Rayman Origins, this game looks absolutely stunning. I've been playing both for a bit, and especially in Legends the near-perfect blending of 2D and 3D elements intrigues me. Granted, they're using a lot of tricks to achieve the proper look, but they get away with something that turns your screen into a canvas for what quickly becomes a beautiful painting.
Have any of you been playing it? If so, share some thoughts on how they achieved what they did (or maybe one of the devs is in here, if so, a tech breakdown would be awesome if permitted), or simply reflect on your experiences
ps: I just went through the "Black Betty" level, and I just had a constant very wide grin. Very few games do that, and for that alone, Rayman Origins' devs get kudos from me.

Don't get the Vita version! It has ~30 levels cut out of it!
Also, the musics nowhere near as good aside from a few stand out tracks, and the levels are a bit boring (but I am loving the rapture style shadowy ones).
Its a great game, no question, and I'm enjoying the hell out of it! I just wish it was a little more like Origins. It seems like they toned a lot of it down though Also, no mozzy levels outside the back to origins levels makes me cry
Still need to pick this one up, but Origins was pretty awesome (up until the point where my save was corrupted anyways...)
The "forced" side-scroller levels are really just there to pace the game, giving you a breather in between some of the more intense levels.
All this needs to be considered taking into account the fact that Legends is not made for 20-year-olds, it's made for 7+, so people above 16 (probably lower, i'm 22), will mostly experience it as a relaxing experience, never really challenging like the regular AAA platformer is, but quite frankly I don't really expect it to. I've been playing it to experience it, and it consistently brings a smile to my face, which in itself makes it worth every penny if you ask me never mentioning the fact that the art is perfectly amazing.
Great fucking game, and its so gorgeous!!
I feel like I'm experiencing a cartoon as opposed to playing a game with a cartoon style. Love it.
