Hi All,
I am trying to bake 16bit per channel normal maps in maya.
So far the only way I managed to do this is by using the transfer maps and baking out to .exr format.
This gives me 32bit normal maps which I can convert in photoshop to the correct format.
I am only worried about compression on these .exr files since they are very small in filesize.
Could any of you tell me what compression maya uses when outputting .exr files via transfer maps ? And if I can change the settings to uncompressed for example ?
I've put an example file in the attachment. As long as it is not a lossy type of compression I am good to go, but I don't know how to see what compression is being aplied
even Nuke's metadata doesn't give me the exact answer.
Hopefully somebody can take a look at the file and help me out, link to file below.
