Mostly all art pieces i made are downloadable for example on Gamebanana, because i made them for some mods or just for fun. Now i'm worried, if i put them into my portofolio that employer thinks i have stolen them.
Is it an disadvantage for me if i make my models downloadable for free?
Do you think its better to make some not downloadable pieces *only* for the portofolio?
Thanks for your responses :)

Always credit yourself (real name) in the description of your mod when you post it somewhere. On your portfolio site, mention which assets are mods and include a link its page on gamebanana etc.

Basically make it easy to trace the mod back to you. Also if someone steals one of YOUR mods, you'll be able to say, "Here's the link to my gamebanana page, you can see my upload predates his."

And if nothing else, you probably still have somewhere saved WIP models, and if anyone doubts, you can show them those...not sure how much does that count, but i'm guessing it can hurt in any case....

Zocky - sure. But that's of no use in this case. If a potential employer is looking at a dozen (a rather conservative number, still) portfolios, he's not going to spend any effort investigating whether or not you're the original creator.

You light up any red signs, trigger an alarm bell? Bam you're out of the race.
