Hi, I am currently working on a model in 3ds max studio but I seem to have hid a rock :P. My problem is I have no idea how to round of the planes I have made for the facial features. I was told I could do it with soft selection but I can seem to find a decent tutorial on how it works.

Notice how the nose and mouth section is round and in front of the face it self. I am seeking that effect. If anyone can help me I would be grateful

Alternativly, it may be easier to create the muzzle starting with a 3d object rather than a plane. Like two squashed spheres that you can join in the middle. Then just move verts as needed.
