Any advice before I texture?

Made this revolver rifle for sniper, wanted some criticism before I spend time UV mapping and doing textures for it.

Also, if I import this into mudbox or zbrush and add holes or scratches, then use xnormals to make a normal of the high poly for the low poly, it will have the appearance of holes and scratches but the mesh will be the same on the low poly.

Also, it appears that the muzzzle flash on snipers gun isnt something you can change, so his rifle always needs to be kinds stumpy.
